Applies to the OOF app and ooflink.com
Terms of Use
The short version
- OOF is for people aged 13 and up. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian has to agree to these Terms too.
- Answers are anonymous to other users, but not above the law. Bullying, threats, hate and doxxing get removed and can get you banned.
- You own what you post. You let us show it inside OOF so the app works.
- Something wrong? Report it in the app or email our Grievance Officer. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours.
This summary is here to help. The full text below is what applies.
1. About these Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and [Company legal name] ("OOF", "we", "us"), the company that runs the OOF mobile app and the website ooflink.com (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, using the app or using the website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use OOF.
These Terms are published in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
2. Who can use OOF
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you are under 18, you may use OOF only with the consent of your parent or lawful guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. We may ask for verifiable parental consent before you can use some or all features.
- You must not use OOF if you've been banned from it before, or if the law where you live doesn't allow you to.
3. Your account
You're responsible for your account and for keeping your login details safe. Give accurate information when you sign up and don't create accounts for anyone else.
Pick a username that isn't misleading, offensive or pretending to be someone else. We may reclaim or change usernames that break these Terms.
4. How OOF works
You can create a question, add a card, photo or video, and share a link to it (for example on your story). People who open the link can answer anonymously, and you can react to, repost and share answers.
Anonymous means your identity isn't shown to other users. It does not mean untraceable: we keep limited information needed to keep OOF safe and may share it when the law requires (see the Privacy Policy).
5. Community rules
Savage is fine. Toxic isn't. You must not post, ask, answer or share anything that:
- bullies, harasses, threatens, intimidates or shames anyone, including through "roasts" aimed at real harm;
- reveals someone's private information (doxxing), such as their address, phone number or location;
- is hateful or discriminates on the basis of religion, caste, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar grounds;
- is sexual, obscene or pornographic, or is harmful to children in any way;
- encourages self-harm, suicide, eating disorders or violence;
- impersonates another person or misleads people about who you are;
- is false information shared to deceive or cause harm, or is illegal, including content that threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, public order or friendly relations with other countries;
- infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- is spam, a scam, or contains viruses or malicious code.
You also must not try to identify anonymous users, scrape the Service, get around our safety systems, or use OOF in a way that breaks any law.
6. Moderation and enforcement
OOF is auto-moderated: our automated systems check questions and answers before they reach you, and content that is reported to us is reviewed by our team. We may block, hide or remove content, limit features, or suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these Terms or the law, with or without notice.
Where the law requires, we will remove or disable access to content after receiving a court order or a notice from an authorised government agency, and we may preserve information related to it.
If we act on your content or account and you think we got it wrong, you can contact our Grievance Officer to ask for a review.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the questions, answers, photos, videos and other content you post ("your content").
So that OOF can work, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and adapt your content (for example, resizing an image or creating a story card) only for operating, improving and promoting the Service as you've chosen to share it. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except where it was already shared by others or we need to keep it for legal reasons.
When you answer someone's question, your answer goes to them and they may repost it. Only post what you're comfortable being shared.
8. Reporting and Grievance Officer
You can report a question, answer or account inside the app, or contact our Grievance Officer:
We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days. Complaints about content that shows a person in a sexual act or with private areas exposed, or that impersonates someone, will be acted on within 24 hours.
If you're not satisfied with our decision, you may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee set up by the Government of India, within 30 days of our decision.
9. Brand and Creator modes
If you use OOF for a brand or as a creator, you must follow these Terms, any additional terms we agree with you, and advertising laws, including clearly disclosing paid promotions. You must not use answers to identify or target individual users.
10. Paid features
OOF is free to use. If we introduce paid features, we will show the price, billing period and how to cancel before you pay. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are also covered by their terms.
11. Other apps and services
OOF lets you share to other apps such as Instagram or WhatsApp. Those services are run by other companies, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
12. OOF's rights
The OOF name, logo, app, website, designs and software belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify or reuse them except as these Terms allow.
13. Disclaimers
Answers on OOF are opinions of other users, not facts, and not our views. We do not endorse user content.
We work hard to keep OOF safe and running, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", and we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful content.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for content posted by other users. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to [the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or INR 1,000, whichever is higher]. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
15. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app at [Settings → Account → Delete account] or by emailing [hey@ooflink.com]. We may also suspend or end your access if you break these Terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as Your content, Disclaimers and Limitation of liability) survive.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If the changes are significant, we'll tell you in the app or on the website before they take effect. Continuing to use OOF after that means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in [Bengaluru, Karnataka] have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under consumer protection law.
